visual design and implementation all very good, love it. but something wrong with the design of the data. 2 of the 6 attributes are overall or total value, while the other 4 are kind of average or mean value. considering the vastly different population or land area between countries, it’s inconsistant to say the least, or just being intensionally misleading. for example, it’s reasonable to compare the *average* living standard between a country of 1billion people and a country of 1million; but at the same time, how is it consistent or what’s the point of comparing their *total* CO2 emmision? isn’t it obviously better to use CO2 per capita? we use the living standard index to evaluate human well being. imagine comparing countries’ *total* human well being, by miltiplying the average with population. obviously a big country will have way more total well being of man, which justifies its higher total CO2 emmision. just be consistent, otherwise you are just lying with statistics, which is a good book on this sort of issues (i was told, haven’t read it.)
Interesting to see how global CO2 emissions have exploded especially – between 1990 and 1995. Very addictive tool, thanks for creating this.
