In mid-2010, UN Global Pulse, innovation initiative under the Secretary General to monitor crisis by new technologies, conducted a mobile phone SMS survey in 5 countries in order to gather bottom-up voices on their economic situation.

Although this opt-in survey was statistically acceptable, it was reflecting their COLLECTIVE and PERSONAL situations.
