Reputation Check Instrument

Reputation Check Instrument

This project is inspired by a side effect of the Internet communication, namely anonymous, malicious comments and people’s obsession with checking their reputation in a blog and social networking culture. The Reputation- Check Instruments considers how to perceive and interact with the ‘comments’ which are private, informal but influential data.

The Graphic Instrument displays comments taken from the Internet - any portal sites and SNS. The first step shows the most common words. The number of pixels that make up letters represents the traffic on the websites. When the user’s curiosity is alerted by an abstract graphic, the user can slide out the coloured bit to discover the content details - sliding behaviour changes the font into a more legible one, displaying more detailed information — phrases and then the full sentences.
