Meteorites Based on UTM Zone Mapping

Meteorites Based on UTM Zone Mapping

This Visualization observes data on discovered meteorites at a simplistic level using scalable UTM Zones from converted longitude and latitude coordinates. This provides us the opportunity to easily compare given coordinates of meteorites to grid based satellite data such as those provided by NASA. http://neo.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/Search.html

I have chosen world population as well as the vegetation index for their apparent correlation to the number and/or mass of meteorites discovered on earth.

------------------------------- (LEGEND) ----------------------------------
NUMBER OF METEORITES TO HUMAN POPULATION
Blue: Higher population
Red: Lower Population
Purple: Higher Number of Meteorites in Higher Population Zones White/Yellow: Higher Number of Meteorites in Lower Population Zones

NUMBER OF METEORITES TO VEGETATION INDEX
Green: Higher Vegetation Index
Red: Lower Vegetation Index
Yellow: Higher Number of Meteorites in Higher Vegetation Index
Purple: Higher Number of Meteorites in Lower Vegetation Index
