Health Status Vs Education Attainment and Income

Health Status Vs Education Attainment and Income

In Europe, people with higher level of education and bigger income on average tend to be healthier than those with lower education and/or income level.

Thus, only 55% of people with low education level (ISCED 0-2) perceive their health status as “good” and “very good”. At the same time 81% of population with high education level (ISCED 5-6) has good and very good health.

The same picture is for income: the share of healthy people grows by almost 20% with the increase of income level from 1st to the 5th quintile.
