The government has also invested heavily in green technologies, to the tune of over $30 million. In fact, in 2011, green goods and services counted for 2.6 percent of all jobs in the United States.
Purchasers are getting on the train as well, spending over $40 billion last year on environmentally friendly products. Industries such as manufacturing, construction, professional, scientific and technical services, along with administrative and waste services, transportation and warehousing, and trade industries have all seen inclines, despite the recession.
