We are designing a physical representation exploring the complex relationship
between the global emitted and absorbed carbon dioxide emissions. Each actor
in the system contains a volume of rice as a metaphor for the carbon dioxide
it either emits or absorbs. Participants can interact and redistribute rice among
actors, highlighting the inherit complexity of the system and the difficulty
in attempting to balance the natural and the artificial.
