Business is Booming in Africa

Statistical data shows that Africa contains some of the poorest countries in the world. However, many countries are beginning to show signs of hope. http://www.internationalbusinessguide.org has created an infographic entitled “Business is Booming in Africa” detailing how this country is improving its status in the worldwide economic climate.
Africa has a surprising number of countries-54 total recognized states-each with a varying number of exports.GDP’s can average greatly, from South Africa at 592,000,000,000 to Tuvalu’s GDP of 37,610,000. As countries like Tuvalu struggle financially, there are signs that Africa is making huge steps in the right direction. Africa’s total GDP has increased by over 135% in the past decade. While the literacy rate has declined in recent years, the enrollment of children in primary schools has increased dramatically; from 75.3% in 1990 to 100% today. Africa is also starting to boast large numbers in energy production. Their total electric production in kilowatt hours has increased over 9 trillion since 2008, up three trillion in hydroelectric production since 2008, and increased 13 trillion in thermal production since 2008. Roads are being paved, phone lines put in, and even cell phone usage has increased. Impressively, 6 of the 10 fastest growing economies in the world are in sub-saharan Africa. Many of these countries are also planning some large development projects, such as the Great Inga Dam in the Republic of Congo, the Kigali railway project, Konza City in Kenya, the Ethio-Djibouti railway, the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, the Jasper Power Project, and the Lagos Metro Blue Line.
