A Backstage Pass to World Tours
Summer is always an ideal time to create memories with friends at the beach, on the road, and especially at concerts. With some big names headlining arenas around the nation, this summer seems to be no exception.
Some of the more popular names in pop music, Rihanna, Justin Bieber and One Direction, to name a few, are selling out arenas on their worldwide tours. Then there are some highly anticipated tours that have created a large buzz on the web, like Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z, and the always popular The Rolling Stones.
Will these summer tours be able to trump names like AC/DC, Madonna, or U2 in ticket sales? Only time will tell, but they have quite a number to live up to, with The Rolling Stones coming in on top, grossing an astounding $558+ million on their A Bigger Bang Tour.
Let’s not forget reunion tours of the past and present from colossal bands. Fleetwood Mac is set to tour once again. If you’re looking to be nostalgic, 98°, NKOTB and Boyz II Men will be starring in The Package Tour. With so many bands getting back together to tour, it leaves us wondering if other bands like The Spice Girls or The Police, who both last reunited in 2007, will ever hit the road one more time or if their last tours can be considered their farewell tours.
Our infographic, World Tours: A Backstage Pass, takes a look at some of the biggest upcoming tours of 2013, looks at the numbers that some artists and bands have brought in over the years, and takes you on a trip down memory lane with band reunions.
If you want to catch some of your favorite artists and bands on tour, make sure to pick up concert tickets before they’re gone.
