Australian Health v.s. Health Workforce

Australian Health and Health Workforce
This visualization represents the relationship between Australia’s aging population and its current health workforce. The centre of the visualization represents the relationship between the current percentage of clinicians and the corresponding total population of a particular year between 2005 and 2011. The red connecting lines represent the strain between the demand of the aging population and the number of available clinicians, simulating tendons being pulled due to the stress from both sides. The length of the vertical lines between each node represents the percentage increase. The size of the bubbles also represents this increase.
