20 Liters
The UN determines that adequate access to clean, potable water should be equal to 20 liters per person within 1 km of their dwelling. Following the daily routine of Tammy, we find that the developed world consumes close to 500 liters per day. If the aim is to elevate under-developed countries closer to a level found in N. America or Europe we will put undue strain on an already burdened water supply. Instead we must adjust usage by developed nations to a more sustainable figure.
