Panagiotis Ritsos has an MEng in Electronic Systems Engineering and a PhD on Wearable Computing for Augmented Reality, both from the University of Essex. His research interests include mixed reality, haptics, visualization, wearable computing and user experience. He joined Bangor University as a Research Officer on an EU-funded project, investigating the use of 3D virtual environments in interpreter-mediated communications. He is now employed on a follow-up EU-funded project, evaluating the educational opportunities that VLEs offer for future interpreters and their clients. He is also working on Haptic Data Visualization and is an active member of the AR Standards community, promoting standardisation for open and interoperable AR.
