Visualizing Online Takedown Requests
In our latest challenge, we task you with visualizing the openness of the Internet. We’ve provided you with information on the requests Google receives from copyright owners and governments to remove information from their services, as disclosed in their Transparency Report, as a starting point. Dive into what is provided in this available data and expand your investigation to illuminate the scale and scope of Internet censorship.
With one of the provided data sets numbering close to 1 million rows, this challenge also tests your ability to draw clear, convincing, and fully-formed insights and interpretations from a large amount of information.
Get the data sets and read the full challenge prompt here.
We’re excited to partner with Google for this challenge and are offering $5,000 in prizes.
