We've partnered with the O'Reilly Strata Conference for this year's Strata Conference in New York held October 28-30. The annual conference brings together the brightest minds in data science and big data. We're excited about a design track that features speakers discussing everything from collection to display, and the engineering of interfaces that turn raw information into useful knowledge and changed behaviors.

We've teamed up with the Strata folks and are offering two FREE passes to the community. To be considered, submit a visualization (it can be an old project) that has to do with one of the themes of this year's conference: Data, Connectivity and Society. Submit by 11:59 PM ET, Sunday, October 20 (NEW DEADLINE!) and make sure to tag it #stratanyc2013. All the projects will be featured in a gallery. To learn more about the theme, click here.

And we're also offering the Visualizing community a 20% discount on passes. When registering, just input the code VISUALIZING.

Didn't realize this was for locals. No way I'll be able to find an affordable flight from Toronto to NYC now that the deadline's been pushed out a week before Strata, let alone hotel. Oh well, at least it was Thanksgiving here yesterday, so had time to finish the viz.
