Macromedia Hochschule für Medien und Kommunikation
The Macromedia University for Media and Communication (German: MHMK) is Germany’s leading private university for media and communication. With more than 1,900 students and around 80 professors, it is represented at five locations in the German media centres Munich, Stuttgart, Cologne, Hamburg and Berlin. As a decisive asset the MHMK educates students not only technically and methodologically; it also encourages them individually in their personal development. The Bachelor’s and Master’s courses of study cover the entire spectrum, from conception, design and production to media management. In the university’s four Bachelor’s courses of study, digital media production, film and television, journalism and media management, students can in each case choose from a broad range of fields of concentration. The course of study media and communication management is the only English-language undergraduate degree programme. The Master’s School in its English-language programmes in Media and Design as well as Media and Communication Management follows the Anglo-American educational model and provides for direct entry into an international career. All the courses of study are accredited by the accrediting agency FIBAA, the university itself is accredited institutionally by the German Council of Science and Humanities (Wissenschaftsrat). In the Master’s programme, studies may also be pursued part-time and extra-occupationally.
